Ms Helen Stathopoulos is a Senior Transfusion Scientist in the Transfusion Practice Education Unit at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and a Transfusion Medicine Laboratory Manager within SA Pathology. She has over 30 years' experience working in hospital transfusion laboratories and more recently is involved in developing educational material for medical, nursing and scientific staff. Her current interests include transfusion practice education, improvement in transfusion practice in laboratories and safe and appropriate use of blood products.
