Dr Praveen Pathak

Dr Praveen Kumar Pathak is a Haematologist with The Australian Red Cross Blood Service at Perth. His role includes providing clinical transfusion advice to internal and external stakeholders in the state of Western Australia and Northern Territory including Government of WA and the Royal Flying Doctor's Retrieval Service. He is also the National Clinical Lead for clinical policies and guidelines for the Blood Service. 

Dr Pathak has worked as a Haemostasis and Thrombosis Fellow prior to taking up his current role. He has a special interest in transfusion medicine pertaining to the reversal and laboratory testing of new oral anticoagulants and has worked with Dr Simon McRae in setting up the chromogenic anti-Xa assay for Rivaroxaban at SA Pathology. 

Dr Pathak is a member of International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and American Society of Haematology. He is a member of WA IVIG reference Group, State Disaster management Unit and National Blood transfusion Committee.
