Professor John McBride is an Infectious Disease Physician and Clinical Microbiologist. He is a Professor of Medicine with James Cook University at the Cairns Hospital. He is immediate Past President of the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine.

John has major interests in the Tropical Infectious Diseases of north Queensland and the Western Pacific. Other areas of interest include HIV in PNG and the role of male circumcision in its prevention, thermal scanning for fever, and the hunt for new pathogens.
