Dr Chris Hogan


Dr Chris Hogan is the Medical Director of Pathology Services at the Blood Service. Chris also holds a part-time position as a haematologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he pursues a special interest in critical bleeding, red cell serology, and ABO-mismatched organ transplantation and in teaching. 

Previously, Chris held the position of Principal Medical Officer of the National Blood Authority. He is a Haematology and Transfusion assessor in both Australia and NZ, and a Haematology Examiner for the College of Pathologists.

Dr Hogan has a formal appointment with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Melbourne as a Sub-Dean of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Clinical School. Chris also chairs the Australian National Haemovigilance Advisory Committee.
